I found this section of Fred Ritchins article to be especially interesting. The way he is explaining our perception of photography before it has evolved. Before photographs, there was nothing like it that could document a moment in time and become a Time Machine for a split second.

This quote I think is the reason I am choosing to pair communications with visual arts. Specifically film and photography are a type of communication at its soul. Photographers tend to communicate and the whole world for that matter, likes to communicate through pictures and videos. Visual creativity matched with effective communications/marketing is what makes many of these large companies we know and love so recognizable.
